ALLEYPOTS - USER GUIDE - Homefield Bowl (Yonkers, NY) - Tuesday league
======================================================================
(The short version is README.txt, next to "Start AlleyPots".)

AlleyPots pulls finished Game 1 / 2 / 3 scores from LaneTalk for the
bowlers on your roster sheet, fills in G1/G2/G3, works out the side pots
(Mystery, Love Doubles, Ladies Pot), and gives you the updated Excel file.
Nothing needs to be installed. It runs on your computer and uses the
internet only to read LaneTalk's public live scores.

1. FIRST TIME
-------------
- Right-click AlleyPots-Windows.zip and choose "Extract All...".
(Don't run it from inside the ZIP. It won't work there.)
- Open the extracted folder, then the "AlleyPots" folder inside it.
Keep everything in it together (Documents is a good place for it).

2. START IT
-----------
- Double-click "Start AlleyPots".
- A black window opens and your web browser shows AlleyPots at
http://127.0.0.1:8770 (the same screens as the phone version).
- If the browser doesn't open, type the address shown in the black
  window into Edge or Chrome.
- The first start also puts an AlleyPots icon (the pink and blue AP
logo) on your Desktop. After that, start AlleyPots from that icon.
Deleted it? Double-click extras\Make Desktop Shortcut. Moved the
AlleyPots folder? Start it once from the new place and the icon
  is updated.
- extras\Start Classic Screens opens the older 1.0 screens, in case
  you ever need them.
- The "extras" folder also has this guide, the roster template and
  "Undo Last Update".

Windows warning? The file isn't "signed", so Windows may show
"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen). Click "More info" and then
"Run anyway". If you see "Open File - Security Warning", click "Run".

3. USE IT (the tabs at the bottom, left to right)
---------------------------------------------------
1) Roster: upload your roster .xlsx once (or a Name / Gender / HDCP
list, or paste names). Add, edit or delete bowlers. It stays saved.
2) Event Date: pick the date on the calendar (Tuesdays highlighted).
3) Entries: switch bowlers in or out of Mystery, Love Doubles, Ladies Pot
and Eliminator. Tap "Close entries" when the money is in.
4) Scores: for each game, tap "Draw" for the Mystery numbers, then
"Pull Game 1" (2, 3). It shows "18 of 22 entries have Game 1". Pull
again for late games; filled scores are never erased. Type in anyone
LaneTalk doesn't have, then press the one Save button at the bottom.
The game tallies itself when everyone has a score ("Tally anyway" if
   someone never bowls).
5) Results: winners per game and for the night, then "Save" the Excel.

Everything is saved in the "AlleyPots Files" folder next to
"Start AlleyPots": the Excel files you save and app-state.json
(your roster, entries, Mystery numbers and scores). Your original roster
file is never changed.

4. WHAT THE SHEET NEEDS (see extras\"Roster Template (example).xlsx")
------------------------------------------------------------------
Sheet1, with these headers in row 1:
A Team header rows ("TEAM 1: NAME" ... "EXTRAS:"), bowler names below
each team, a blank row between teams
  B Myster Paid box
  C D E G1 G2 G3 (left blank; AlleyPots fills them)
  F Gender M or F
  G Love Doubles box
H G2 (filled in for Love Doubles entrants)
I HDCP each bowler's handicap (header text "HDCP" in row 1)
J Ladies Paid Ladies Pot entry box (counts only for F bowlers)
  K L M G1 G2 G3 (filled in for Ladies Pot entrants)
N Eliminator box (optional; added when you save if it's missing)

Boxes: blank or an empty box = NOT in. ANY mark (X, check, Y, 1) = IN.
No HDCP column: Love Doubles can't pick winners, and the Ladies Pot uses scratch only.
Rows in the template that start with EXAMPLE are fake. Replace them.

5. WHEN TO PULL (important!)
-----------------------------
LaneTalk's public scores only stay up for about 24 HOURS.
Pull on Tuesday night (you can pull as games finish) or by about
4 PM Wednesday at the latest. After that the games are gone and
the pull finds nothing.

6. STOP IT
----------
Close the black "AlleyPots" window (or press Ctrl+C in it).
Closing the browser tab alone does NOT stop it.

7. UPDATES
----------
Each time you start AlleyPots it quickly checks for a newer version
(it skips the check if you're offline). If there is one, the black window
shows what's new and asks "Update now? [Y/N]". Type Y and press Enter.
No answer in 60 seconds means "not now" and AlleyPots starts as usual.
- Only the "app" folder gets replaced. Your "AlleyPots Files" folder
(saved Excel files, roster, nights) is never touched.
- The version you had before is kept in "app.bak". If a new version gives
you trouble, close AlleyPots and double-click extras\Undo Last Update.
- A few updates need the full download (when the built-in Python parts
change). The window will tell you. Download the new AlleyPots-Windows.zip,
extract it, and move your "AlleyPots Files" folder into the new folder.
- The latest full download is always here:
  https://alleypots.com/download/windows
- Your version number is shown under the AlleyPots title in the app.
What changed is listed in app\CHANGELOG.txt.

NOTES
-----
- Money (entry fees, payouts) is turned on per league: tap Select League
at the top, then "Pots & payouts".
- Sharing: send someone the link
https://alleypots.com/get (phone or PC steps), or
the whole AlleyPots-Windows.zip. Don't share your "AlleyPots Files"
folder unless you mean to share the scores.
- AlleyPots reads LaneTalk's public live-score data (the same data
livescore.lanetalk.com shows). It doesn't use any login.
